Valencia is a fantastic city by the sea with a mild temperature, which is close to mountains. A small size city where you can walk to most places from your house or flat, along the old Turia river bed which has been converted into a superb park with fountains, cafes and children's play areas. Valencia has one of the healthiest climates in the world and boasts of 320 days a year of sunshine. It is Spain's 3rd city and unlike Barcelona and Madrid has still managed to retain its authentic Spanish feel whilst developing into one of the most vibrant and lively cities.
Valencia is an up and coming city and has recently become in important location for yacht racing in the Mediterranean. In 2007 Valencia hosted the America's Cup, and is hoping to do so again in 2010. It has also been confirmed that the Grand Prix will be returning to Valencia on the weekend of 22/23 August 2009.
Whether your interests are in medieval history and you wish to spend some time in the old part of the city El Carmen sampling the best tapas and red wine, or listen to music in the Palau de la Musica or the new superb Opera House designed by Calatrava, or sailing at the newly designed America's Cup Port, few towns in Europe can equal Valencia in property prices, to live or to rent. With the current economic climate, now is the time to make a sound investment for the future.
There are three other arguments not to forget, Valencia is also a safe place to live, where you can walk in the evening after having a few tapas on a terrace in late October, and last but not least, the Spanish public health system is a reference for most European countries and when you live here we would say that this is very important.
We cannot be impartial. We have chosen to live and work here. Therefore our first piece of free advice to you is to come and visit Valencia: Try it; live it.
